Amaç karşı çenedeki dişler ile uyumlu, düzgün sıralanmış dişlerin olmasıdır. Tabi her ne kadar düzgün diş anlamına gelse de, kelime anlamını aşan Ortodonti bölümü, günümüzde sadece dişleri değil, alt ve orta yüz düzensizliklerini de tedavi etmektedir. / Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the proper placement of misplaced teeth on the jawbones and the diagnosis and treatment of facial irregularities.
